The ChessBrain Project Announces TurboLinux, Inc. as a sponsor for ChessBrain's World Record Attempt
Newbury Park California - The ChessBrain Project, the world's largest distributed chess computer, announced today that TurboLinux has agreed to be a sponsor for ChessBrain's world record attempt at the NordU USENIX 2004 Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Turbolinux is the leading supplier of Linux operating systems and products in the Asian Pacific. Turbolinux is excited to be part of ChessBrain's historic distributed computing project. The fact that the heart of ChessBrain, the SuperNode, is Linux-based demonstrates the power and flexibility of open source software, said Koichi Yano, president and COO of Turbolinux, Inc.
We're looking forward to watching ChessBrain break the world record.
Cedric Griss of the Distributed Computing Foundation stated: The
foundation recognizes the important role that Linux is playing in establishing secure robust servers all over the world. We are excited that TurboLinux has
stepped forward to support this important effort, and have made their
software available for our use during the world record attempt
