Games to Wireless Users in North America
Infogrames, Inc., one of the largest third-party publishers of interactive entertainment software in the U.S., and JAMDAT Mobile Inc., a leading provider of entertainment applications and enabling technologies for wireless, today announced an agreement to jointly publish classic Hasbro, Inc. titles for mobile phones. Under the terms of the exclusive three-year agreement, Infogrames and JAMDAT will develop and publish wireless versions of Hasbro's classic SCRABBLE, YAHTZEE and BOGGLE titles. In addition, the companies will develop and publish DUNGEONS & DRAGONS adventure games for wireless under the Hasbro-owned Wizards of the Coast brand in North America.
This agreement enables Infogrames to enter the growing wireless entertainment market, equipped with the valuable expertise of an industry leader like JAMDAT, said Maureen Alvarado, Infogrames, Inc. The exclusive partnership combines JAMDAT's unmatched wireless entertainment expertise with Infogrames' leadership in interactive entertainment software and globally recognized Hasbro game titles. Under the agreement, the applications will be developed using JAMDAT's world-class technology product suite, and will be delivered to platforms used by carriers worldwide, including QUALCOMM's BREW, Sun Microsystems' J2ME, and iAppli.
Hasbro is a household name in the U.S., with a long history of success in family leisure entertainment.
