VIDA Gets Green Alligators to speak Spanish

Vida Games today announced the nationwide availability of its latest game, GREEN ALLIGATORS: Zoo & Farm Animals, the new bilingual version of the company’s runaway hit card game, GREEN ALLIGATORS: Rings & Things.

A modified version of last year’s sensation, GREEN ALLIGATORS, the new bilingual Spanish/English GREEN ALLIGATORS or EL LAGARTITO VERDE features colorful illustrations accompanied with clear, easy to read definitions in an English-to-Spanish format: for example, sun/sol. The play of the game remains the same as the original and instructions are printed in both languages.

Following in the footsteps of its award-winning predecessor, Green Alligators: Zoo & Farm Animals has already caught the attention of industry experts since its release in March, as the game recently received a 2004 National Parenting Center Seal of Approval award. The game made a splash at Toy Fair 2004 in February with retailers eager to carry both versions of the game.

Vida Games is making GREEN ALLIGATORS: Zoo & Farm Animals widely available in classrooms, as the inspiration for the new version of the game came from English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers, who wrote to Vida Games to tell them that they were using the game to teach students English. Lasker explained, In addition to ESL instructors, we heard from Spanish language teachers in U.S. public schools and individual consumers who had an interest in a bilingual version. So, we made a version that was not only fun for the whole family, it can be played at home and at school. Anywhere you play it provides a learning aspect while being a lot of fun.
