In the Risk boardgame it is all or nothing. Show no mercy and wipe your opponent off the face of the earth. The Risk boardgame is a perfect example of a game where strategy and chance work hand in hand to lead you to world domination. Most war games are more complicated and have a greater hold on detail. Risk is a fairly straightforward game that allows young and old to match wits on the battlefield.
The first Risk boardgame came out in 1959 and still retains its holds as a classic board game. The rules for this entertaining game have been modified over the years and the original rules and the updated rules can be found online in PDF form. Variations of the game have developed with some avid followers. You can check out Castle Risk, which came out in 1986, which is played on a European map and Risk 2210 AD, that came out in 2001 which features underwater and moon territories and the latest Lord of the Rings version of Risk which of course is set in middle earth.
To add a little twist in the early 90s, Capital Risk and Secret Mission Risk came on the market So if you are looking for a fun and challenging game for 2 to 6 players that take about an hour and a half to three hours to play and are ten years old and up you will enjoy playing the Risk boardgame.
